| Volunteer Information (Fall Information) The team needs YOUR help! As we stated many times before (and you signed up for) we are starting our volunteer program. In addition to the various committee positions, it also takes approximately 37 people to run an average swim meet - see duty descriptions for details. Given the size of our team, that means that virtually every adult needs to be doing something. If not, either critical tasks won’t get done, or someone will be forced to shoulder a disproportionate share of the work. Sign-up for meets will be posted at the pool. Based upon lessons learned from previous seasons, as well as from other teams in the EFSL, the Executive Committee is implementing a volunteer program which will require that every family contributes a fair and equitable amount of time. Each family is responsible to perform at least 40 hours of volunteer time this season, or pay the 200 Euro fee. Also, each family should bring a food item or donate 10Euros for all home meets (this does not count towards volunteer hour requirements) and sign-up for this should be done at the pool. It is the reponsiblity of each family to have their volunteer hours and donations submitted to the volunteer coordinator to be counted. This can be done by clicking on a Volunteer Submissions link on this page and filling in the form. If you have questions or need help please contact the volunteer coordinator at volunteer@geilenkirchenorcas.org or you can contact the webmster@geilenkirchenorcas.org with technical problems. Bottom line, we need you to help the team. If English is a problem you must let us know so we can help. Concessions Our concessions will be in the back area of the empty space next to Shop 2000...what does this mean. We have a good indoor area to sell food and beverages, but no running water. For each meet we need volunteers to:
Volunteer Opportunities There are many ways in which the parents and swimmers alike can help out in making the Orcas a great place for the kids to learn and develop their swimming skills with their friends. Other ways in which you can show your support of our swimmers:
Awards Banquet 13 March, Awards Banquet Menu - Our Banquet coordinator, Adis Perez, has been checking on menu ideas. Please let her know if your child has any food allergies (seafood, eggs, tree nuts etc.). This information will help with the menu selection. Contact Adis at Adis.Perez@forces.gc.ca. Basket Affair Was a huge success!! We have been asked back and have already made arrangements to do this again this year. All families must supply a basket or buy out. | ![]() Help Wanted Starter Assistant Statistian Meet Coordinator ![]() Contact Volunteer Co-ordinator volunteer@geilenkirchenorcas.org |
